How to Configure
Android (9.0+)
- Open your device Settings.
- Navigate to Network & internet.
- Tap on Private DNS.
- Select Private DNS provider hostname.
- Enter your chosen hostname (e.g.,
dns.adguard.com). - Tap Save.
Windows 11
- Open Settings > Network & internet.
- Select your current connection (Wi-Fi or Ethernet).
- Next to DNS server assignment, click Edit.
- Change the setting to Manual and turn on IPv4.
- Enable DNS over HTTPS and select "Manual template".
- Enter the DoH template provided by your DNS service.
Apple iOS & macOS
Apple natively supports encrypted DNS via configuration profiles rather than typing in a raw hostname.
- Visit your chosen provider's website.
- Download the
.mobileconfigApple profile. - Go to Settings to install the downloaded profile.
- Alternatively, use their official App Store app to enable the DNS.
Web Browsers
Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Brave support secure DNS (DoH) internally.
- Open your browser settings.
- Search for Secure DNS or DNS over HTTPS.
- Enable the feature and choose a Custom provider.
- Input the DNS-over-HTTPS (DoH) URL corresponding to the provider.
